407: Cherokee Hair Tampons

Wow, i'm pretty shocked there hasn't been a thread for this episode yet. In my opinion this is definitely a very memorable episode and certainly one of my favorites. It really shows you just how far somebody will go to save their best friend's life and makes you realize just how quickly one person's health can go from good to bad in a heartbeat. It's not hard to see why i'm affected by this episode so strongly given what i've been through. I'm sure there's a lot of questions surrounding the part about cartman being the only one in town with the same blood type as kyle. If you look closely at the picture that the doctor shows stan, you can see that it says his blood type is AB negative. AB negative is the most rare of all the different types and when i caught that i knew right away what that was about and it's thanks to health occupations class 2 years ago that i learned that. Me, on the other hand, i have the same blood type as butters, so that would be a similarity on that part but whether it's O positive or negative i've never heard anything about that in any episodes (i'm O positive).

Its one of my favorites too I really like how stan cares about saving kyle's life. I hated cartman so bad in this one. But he gets his in the end.

Remember that music that kept playing in the background throughout the episode? I can play the whole thing on the keyboard. I have a talent (that i inheirited from my mom probably) where i have an ability to do what's called playing by ear which means i can hear music whether it's from a video game, tv show, or a song on the radio and be able to figure out the music notes very quickly and be able to play it on the keyboard. I'd be able to type all the notes to the song right now.

and stan was really good taking care of kyle and all, this is the kind of momments i like of stan, when he's a good friend to kyle, thats nice to see

I agree. It's one the best friendship moments ever in the show. You never really see anything like that on tv. The way sheila became so obsessed with that holistic bullshit shows how stupid a lot of the adult characters are and here's another example of how cartman is such a vindictive, selfish, self-centered psychopath.

Exactly, Sheila's his mom. She should've not taken any chances with her son's health. How can "natural" medicine heal kidneys, especially ones that were failing like kyle's were? If kyle were my son, i would take every measure necessary to find out what's going on and what i can to to help him. That's what parents are supposed to do and i would personally see that he gets the help he needs. As far as cartman, that was the most selfish thing i've ever seen a person do. It's like i said before, it's no wonder there was no one else with the same blood type, because AB negative is more rare than anything else and if it wasn't for stan's determination and quick thinking and utmost caring for his best friend, like it or not, kyle would've died.

I thought he was going to die when i first saw it. It always reminds me when i was in the hospital everytime i see that episode. I liked the part when Stan and the gang were trying to get cartmans kidney out. "Kidney blocker 2,000?" That was funny!

I don't think that's ever happened to me. I remember my step-dad payed me to play at the arcade if i sucked soda up my nose with a straw, of course i didn't really care since i was little so i was willing to do that sort of thing for the arcade.

I just finished reading that kyle dies fanfic on bbs again and reading that specific one and seeing all the episodes where kyle almost dies makes me feel more emotionally attached to kyle. That is seriously the best fanfic that i've ever seen coming from there, especially when you compare it to the shit people are coming up with over there nowadays.

That one was kind of weird. Not really my taste. Kyle dies still holds the title for my favorite.

Paint thinner would do it a lot faster. My step-dad showed me a few months ago that he had to spend the day spraying all over at a job site and his mask held the smell of it all day. I put my face in it and i was surprised he didn't get high since he's a painter and has to work with that shit everyday.

I got to see what that would probably be like when we had to paint the inside of that house we were in for only 2 months. It was so hot in that house when we did that because the electricity wasn't on yet and all the paint made it even worse since it made everything humid.

On the note of this episode, and I might have said this before, this was definitely one of my favorite ones as far as the friendship between Kyle and Stan is concerned. I have yet to see Matt and Trey really approach this level of friendship with these two since then.

i think i found something wonderful. i believe what joe was saying about mgs reducing stress. i finally got a couple guns and therefore had to be shot at by soliders, then at one point was being attacked by dogs and had electric fences either in front or behind me all in one. i haven't said shit, goddamnit, or fuck so many times during a video game. well, the point is that i was only thinking of beating that part and not getting my ass shot up so much but it was the game i was thinking about and nothing else.
