I remember the last time the power went out over here because of a bad storm. It was early august 2006 when we got hit with a microburst that knocked out the power for 10 hours and we had to use a generator so we could plug in the fan so we could sleep through the night since it was hot as hell. The wind and hail were so storng they knocked down powerlines, including one in front of my house and that one was almost completely ripped out of the ground. Two of the trees in our yard were almost sliced in half. The part of the road in front of the house was shut down for a week, except for local traffic. That was the biggest adrenline rush of my life.

I didn't start drinking until i was about 17 because i was never allowed to before that because of my disabilities and i had to stop drinking things like straight tequilla when i started having seizures a year later. Now i usually just stick with wine coolers and smirnoff though i'll occasionally drink a strawberry daquiri or a margarita. I've even tryed bailey's which is irish creme but i hate beer. First time i tryed it it only took one sip to cause me to decide i did'nt like it.

i was just saying because i used to go to another forum where most there told me they dont start going to bars to drink until they are 21, maybe a bit earlier, but not much, so it was very weird, you know, hearing about how different the customs are from here

Well, i have what's called hydrocephallis meaning when i was born i had a lot of fluid around my brain that wouldn't drain ny itself so they put in a tube to drain it called a shunt and i've had so many shunts fail that i've had over 35 surgeries. This has all happened around the cerebellum which is the part of the brain that controls balance so my balance isn't perfect. I also have scoliosis which means my spine is curved and i tend to have a lot of problems with it, especially at work. I'm so sick of these back problems that i'm at the point where i want to have surgery for it which, givern all i've been through, is something i never thought i'd say. I also started having seizures a few years ago and we thought the medication was controling them but it turns out it's not completely doing it so the dosage probably has to be increased. My hips and elbows are backwards so i can't run, hearing loss in both ears and a lazy eye and i guess that about sums it up. Believe me, if you ever saw me in person, you'd never be able to guess i have all this shit going on.

but actually the fact that you wanna get surgery for the scoliosis is not that strange since you have already had several surgeries before and are probably way less scared of it than most people are
as a matter of fact i have a bit of scoliosis myself, little but the doctor said it might get worse, and the idea of surgery totally scares me, i probably wouldnt have the balls to do it

What i mean is i work as a cashier and because that involves a lot of twisting all day, that makes the scoliosis start to act up but even watching self-checkout which mainly involves standing in the same place the whole shift can get my back started too and i've wanted out of cashiering for at least 6 months now. It's just too stressful of a job and i don't have enough patience for it.

The doctors weren't sure how long i would live when i was born but i've already made it as far as being only 4 months from turning 21 so it's a good feeling and there were a lot of times when it didn't look too good for me like in december 1999.

yeah its funny how that stuff happens right? when my mum was a kid she was so underweight and fragile that the doctors told her parents that she probably wouldnt live that long, but today she is 56 and she is still quite alive and doesnt even look particularly unhealthy

Yeah it's always weird how when you get something that looks like it's a terminal thing and you're not expected to live very long and you wind up beating all odds. My mom used to work with somebody who was a vietnam war vet and he got injured in the war and the doctors didn't think he'd live and he did. He gave me his old air force jacket and said "one survivor to the next" and it's a pretty heavy jacket and perfect when it's really cold. I did have a scare a year ago when i woke up one morning with one hell of a headache but tryed ignoring it and me and my mom did some running around and it steadily became a migraine by noon (trust me, you never want one of those mother fuckers) and i started feeling sick. By one, i had an upset stomach and even though i tryed eating something, i couldn't so i tryed taking pepto bismol but as soon as it went down that was it, i threw up. Then i went and tryed to lay down but not ten minutes later, it happened again. Well, in these situations this used to mean my shunts were failing so we headed right to the hospital as a precaution. First they put in an iv (those things suck, even after they put in the needle, it still pokes at your vein and it's annoying), gave me anti-nausea medicine and some morphine for the headache (i hadn't had morphine in 7 years before this, so i felt like i was high) which helped it a lot and took me to get an x-ray to check my head. After that i got to sit in an exam room in the ER for a few hours and finally moved me to the ICU where there was nurses outside my room all the time to watch over me in case anything happened and damn, what a comfortable bed that was! The next morning the doctor came and said if i was still having ths migraine, etc. he was going to take me down to surgery but since i didn't have anything going on he kept me there until about 8 that night then i came home. So, to make a long story short, it was close but i narrowly avoided having sugery again.

Well, here it is, my first ever sig. What do you guys think?

Yeah it's always weird how when you get something that looks like it's a terminal thing and you're not expected to live very long and you wind up beating all odds. My mom used to work with somebody who was a vietnam war vet and he got injured in the war and the doctors didn't think he'd live and he did. He gave me his old air force jacket and said "one survivor to the next" and it's a pretty heavy jacket and perfect when it's really cold. I did have a scare a year ago when i woke up one morning with one hell of a headache but tryed ignoring it and me and my mom did some running around and it steadily became a migraine by noon (trust me, you never want one of those mother fuckers) and i started feeling sick. By one, i had an upset stomach and even though i tryed eating something, i couldn't so i tryed taking pepto bismol but as soon as it went down that was it, i threw up. Then i went and tryed to lay down but not ten minutes later, it happened again. Well, in these situations this used to mean my shunts were failing so we headed right to the hospital as a precaution. First they put in an iv (those things suck, even after they put in the needle, it still pokes at your vein and it's annoying), gave me anti-nausea medicine and some morphine for the headache (i hadn't had morphine in 7 years before this, so i felt like i was high) which helped it a lot and took me to get an x-ray to check my head. After that i got to sit in an exam room in the ER for a few hours and finally moved me to the ICU where there was nurses outside my room all the time to watch over me in case anything happened and damn, what a comfortable bed that was! The next morning the doctor came and said if i was still having ths migraine, etc. he was going to take me down to surgery but since i didn't have anything going on he kept me there until about 8 that night then i came home. So, to make a long story short, it was close but i narrowly avoided having sugery again.

Well, here it is, my first ever sig. What do you guys think?

My real name is Adam and yeah i like to brag about how much i've cheated death. The doctors weren't sure how long i would live when i was born but i've already made it as far as being only 4 months from turning 21 so it's a good feeling and there were a lot of times when it didn't look too good for me like in december 1999.

Well that's good to know adam, at least your heart is still tickin more or less. But bragging about cheating death? Come on, you gotta have some stories about cheating death due to non-health related issues! G-d knows I have a few stories like that. Dodging randomly falling trees, being hit and run by cars (very detrimental to my back lemme tell ya), almost got gored in the head by a passing semi truck's mirror a few days back, been beat up by the KKK (heh, oregon for ya), had a gun pulled on me more than once . . . . ummm there's more there but it'd be a while to remember them all.

Random note on health! I dunno why, but for some weird ass reason I've lost nearly 18 pounds in less than 3 months. During that time I've doubled how much I eat, how many cals I take in, but even so. And does ANYONE know what causes random dizziness and blackouts? Like when standing up or just sometimes from nothing at all? I just need a trick or something cuz it's kinda annoying, no, really annoying.

I saw the beginning of this new fanfic on south park studios and i can already see that it's going to suck. It starts woth cartman having the other three boys over to spend the night and as the boys decide they don't want to stay the night, cartman starts to get pissed off and won't let them leave. Then they all go to bed and when kyle falls asleep, cartman puts a whole bunch of laxatives in his mouth. Next morning, sure enough they wake up to find that kyle has shit himself but then they see his face is all green and he's unresponsive so they take him to the hospital and learn that kyle ended up with kidney failure. Wtf? This person obviously knows nothing about human anatomy. Shitting yourself has nothing to do with kidney failure, that's a whole different thing and a whole different body system. I noticed that a lot of people seem to agree because that fanfic has been viewed at least 15 times and hasn't been commented on once.

Now if you want to read a really good fanfic then go to sps and find the "Kyle dies: The Final Chapter" fanfic. I know it's something nobody wants to think about but it turned out to be one of the best i've ever read. This author executed the story so perfectly that it's a kind of story you don't want to stop reading and i don't say that very often as far as stories go. Well, i don't want to give away the ending but i will say that this story will keep you guessing and you'll never guess what's going to happen.

Well, it's worth finishing believe me. It does have a happy ending and i think it's better every time i read it. There is another good one i saw on sps called, "The Dream Master". It's kind of like a supernatural story but i still think it's pretty good.

What kind is it? Well, just a little advice just in case you were thinking of getting photoshop. Just get photoshop elements instead of cs3 becuase cs3 is about 800 bucks and elements is only 80 and you still have about 99% of the good stuff with it anyway. I'm seriously considering going back to learning web design since i do so well with photoshop.

Those seem to be the best ones out there, i have a dell inspirion. Don't ever get a toshiba. I had one of those and it was a piece of shit. Slow as hell all the time, started falling apart after a year, cd-rom drive broke off so i couldn't put in the recovery disk, it was just a total piece of shit from day one.

That's pretty badass. Did you use an abstract background for it? I gotta learn how to make those. If the file's too big just resize it by resampling it. I'm sure the program you use will give you that option.I usually make mine 386x163 pixels and if that's too big i just resize it.

Or if you don't know how to resize it, i can copy it go onto photoshop and do it for you but it might be because it's saved in png format because the pixel size looks fine but the fact that it's 106 kb, but i'm not exactly sure. I save mine as jpeg so it's hard to tell.
